Dhan means ‘money’ and Teras means ‘thirteen’. Also known as Dhantrayodashi, it is the first day marking the festival of Diwali in Hinduism. In the Hindu month of Kartik, Dhanteras is celebrated on the thirteenth lunar day Krishna Paksha (dark fortnight).

Dhanvantari, the God of Ayurveda is also worshipped on Dhanteras. He imparted the knowledge and wisdom of Ayurveda to help and improve mankind. For the same reason, Dhanteras had been decided to be called “National Ayurveda Day”

It is observed that on this day, Hindus worship their assets. The significance of worshipping assets is that people become well aware of their assets and also know how to utilise them.

An asset is a source of income. For an entrepreneur, an asset is their money, property, business and also their employees. This is the right time to know and utilise one’s assets and manpower as well.

People invest in Gold, Silver and other such metals. Rates of Gold, Silver and other metals fluctuate on a monthly basis. Gold below 18K accrue very low returns and are difficult to sell off also. Big fish e-commerce Industries like Amazon and Flipkart do their Diwali online sale. Everything small to big is sold at big discounted prices.

Currently, gold prices are ruling in the range of Rs 52,000 per 10 grams in the country. In these Covid times, it is of no debate that people whether entrepreneurs or job seekers, everyone has faced a backfoot financially. So what else can an entrepreneur invest in?

Well apart from metals entrepreneurs can definitely invest in things that become an asset for their company in the end like hiring good and promising employees. A good employee is no less than Gold, isn’t it?

A student entrepreneur can certainly invest in their startup ideas by reiterating their thoughts and bonding up with their mentors. Whereas a CEO can invest by spending quality and valuable time with their business partners.

And as mentioned above that Dhanteras is marked as “National Ayurveda Day”, entrepreneurs should definitely invest in their health. They can provide medical provisions to their employees, business partners and family of course.

Conclusion:

Investment is not just about Gold, Silver and other materialistic things. It can be in any form.
